Robert's Baby Blessing

In looking through our pictures today I realized I forgot to mention a big event we had recently - Robert's Baby Blessing!! Duh... I'm still amazed at all of the things I forget these days. So.. Let's just pretend that I didn't forget. We'll say the blessing was "last" weekend, which may have actually been almost 3 weeks ago. Again, all pictures are courtesy of my Mom who may as well be dubbed our personal family photographer. Thanks Mom!

We decided to have the blessing at home to make it easier for family that had to travel to Bellingham. This also made it possible to have lunch immediately after. Let's face it. We're all about food. Any chance we have to eat food. We do.

Alex's family was a huge help (aren't they always?) in getting things ready. Unfortunately things took a little longer than anticipated, so I was still running around like a crazy lady in my apron when people got there. At least it's a cute apron. Yes, those are pans of cinnamon rolls. And yes, I continued making cinnamon rolls into that week because I was craving them. I used this recipe from one of my favorite websites.

Still waiting... and baby wasn't dressed because we couldn't find all of his outfit. So we improvised with some very Northwest attire - a flannel shirt and khaki pants.

Still waiting... Who has the worst posture in the room?? I do!

Still waiting... but wait... the baby has fallen asleep. This is a good thing. Sleeping baby = no fussing during his blessing! We like this.

Last weekend we went to Silverdale to go to my niece's baptism (I can't believe she's 8 already!). Unfortunately our clan was feeling crummy and only went for the day... but, here are some cute pictures my Mom took while we were there.

I took a few more pics today during Robert's feeding frenzy. The kid likes to eat. A lot. I was hoping to get some of him making the yuck face, but as soon as he saw himself on the laptop (I took them with the computer) he got distracted. Maybe next time...

Jumperoo

Baby purchase #1,026,113: The Jumperoo

We've had several failed attempts at keeping our little guy entertained with the latest baby gadgets. That is, until we discovered the Jumperoo! It's basically a stationary Johnny Jump Up and he LOVES it. I love it too. Here's why:

Another quick update

Valentine's Day. It came. It went. It's still my least favorite holiday, BUT it's the one day I can justify eating sweets all day long. I do this everyday regardless, but on Valentine's Day it feels okay.

Church. Alex recently got a new calling - Elders' Quorum First Counselor. He was a bit overwhelmed at first, but thinks he'll enjoy it once he gets his bearings. For the time being I'm still teaching in Young Women's, but have also received a new calling. I'll let you know when it's official.

Baby Robert. Pretty sure our little guy is teething. He's been very fussy and gnaws on everything in sight. His favorite "chew toy" is his Dad's knuckle. Whatever works. He's continuing to grow and probably weighs nearly 20 pounds now. He's started figuring out how to use his hands better. His latest trick is to pull his pacifier out of his mouth and deliberately drop it on the ground. Then he waits for Mom or Dad to give it back so he can do it again. We've recently started giving him rice cereal with different fruits and veggies mixed in and it's going very well. Bananas seem to be his favorite, but he's willing to eat whatever we give him. If only I didn't have to deal with the aftermath - super nasty.

Blog. This thing has suffered greatly since Robert was born. I apologize. I'm hoping to get back with it soon. It's just kind of hard to feel blog-tastic when I'm so tired.

We've been so busy with moving, baby and Alex starting school again.
Here's a quick update.. and maybe a few pics...

We are happily moved and living in Bellingham again.

Robert is gaining weight and getting bigger everyday. He's also super cute. I might be a little biased.

Alex just started his Master's in Teaching program at Western yesterday. Western is MUCH different than BYU, but he thinks it's going to be semi-enjoyable, so we're happy.

I've received a calling at church. I'll be teaching in Young Women's (again). I'm considering it a do over since I never felt completely amazing at teaching the first time around.

... and, the best news of all... I'm getting a haircut on Thursday! I realize this may not excite anyone but me, and I'm okay with that.

Weeks and weeks of sleep deprivation = fat face. Breastfeeding may help with weight loss, but it doesn't do much for double chins or dark circles under the eyes. Maybe it's the pounds and pounds of donuts and Cheetos I've consumed.
