I just about laughed out loud when our teacher told us not to shake the baby during our 4-week prenatal class. Honestly, who in their right mind would shake a baby...? A cute, little, defenseless baby. Now it all makes a little more sense. Key word:
right. I haven't been in my right mind since Robert was born. Probably more like one step away from insane. Don't worry, the baby is safe. No shaking here, but I understand now why she said it. Some days I wish I could just turn him off. As with most things in my life, just when it starts to feel like too much - I get relief. Some extra sleep. A few extra smiles from Robert. And today, a 7 a.m. trip to Macy*s for some shopping therapy. It was totally worth it. Life is good.
We've got a lot going on these next couple weeks:
- I'm going back to work... for 3 days.
- My sister, Diane is coming to Utah for a visit.
- Alex's family is coming to Utah for a visit.
- Thanksgiving dinner.
- Lots and lots of packing.
- Moving back to Washington
Yes, I am moving back. Can you believe it? Alex will be graduating from BYU at the end of December and has been accepted into the Masters in Teaching program at Western. We are both really excited to come back, but not feeling much drive to pack our things. I know it will get done. Somehow.
Anyway, that's our news.
Now for something totally unrelated.
We met up with Alex's parents in New York for a friend's wedding a few weeks ago. Unfortunately, we didn't take many pictures while we were there, but here are a few of the pictures we (and Alex's parents) did take.

Proud parents.

I'm super lame and never posted anything about our goings-on in October. Here's a briefing, along with a few pics below.
At the beginning of the October my Mom and Dad came for a visit and to meet their newest grandson (he's their 3rd). My Mom helped with housework and my Dad tended to some car problems I was having. It was so nice having the extra help. That same weekend Aunt Sharon threw a baby shower for me at her place. We were able to see several members of the family we hadn't seen in awhile. Good food + good company = great time. (Thanks for having us Aunt Sharon) AND
I turned 30. No need to elaborate on that part.
The pics...
My Mom returned from her trip to London bearing gifts. Here are some shoes for Robert (from her roommate). So cute.

Robert spending time with Grandma Miller - who was working double duty as our household dishwasher. Thanks again, Mom!

Robert with Grandpa Miller. Pretty sure he was trying to figure out one of Alex's Physics problems. (Alex gets this spaced out look often).

Hanging out with Dad.

Robert had several other visitors during the month of October, but we didn't get pictures. Sorry guys.
Lastly, Teri sent this over the day. I hope you all enjoy it as much as I did.
