Earlier this evening I was minding my own business, surfing the net and it came. A little tap from below. Initially I thought it was my stomach adjusting to the large amount of food I ate for dinner, but then it continued tap, tap, tapping in the same spot. It was subtle, and undoubtedly the baby. What a weird sensation. I realize now this isn't a new feeling. I felt something similar the other day while I was at work. That time it was more like a weird wooshy/floaty feeling in my stomach. To be honest, I thought it was my stomach telling me I was about to poop my pants... minus actually needing to. It's just weird. It's like I have a little submarine floating around in my belly with a horrible navigator - running into walls, etc.. How much room could possibly be in there anyway? So weird.By the way, dinner was awesome. We went to the Old Spaghetti Factory with Denis and Valerie. Valerie is super woman when it comes to finding all of the good deals in town. Seriously, she's in the know anytime a restaurant has a special going on - and we always reap the benefits. In celebration of 40 years, Spaghetti Factory is offering a lunch/dinner special - 40% off pasta classics every Tuesday through May 26th. Not a bad deal considering it includes bread, salad or soup and ice cream or spumoni for dessert. I highly recommend it. I'm pretty sure we'll be back again before it's over.
Life is good. My stomach is full. Time for some sleep. G'night!

You felt the baby!! How exciting!! Isn't it strange at first, after awhile it is such a comforting feeling to feel the little movements. Here is some fun ideas to try with Alex, it might work better when baby is a bit bigger but you can try it at anytime. 1.) get a flashlight and put it directly onto your tummy (shining the light of course :) ) My girls all loved the light shining through and would follow the light, trying to touch it or something. 2.) Get a pop can REALLY cold and put it on your belly...it is FREEZING, but feeling the baby's reaction is great!!
Kristine! Your comparisons are hilarious... That is so great that you can finally feel the baby!
Ha! Superwoman...at finding food deals. Soon I will be too heavy and full to fly.
YAAY BABY. I am so excited that "he" I mean "it" is roaming around in there. I love reading your blog... it makes me so happy. I miss you guys already. It is cold again here. Beautiful, but cold.
Maren :)
"How much room is in there?" Not nearly enough in a few months! So exciting to feel baby for the first time ... just wait until you can *see* little foot/hand/elbow bulges when baby stretches out when it gets *really* cramped. It's the weirdest/coolest thing - so is motherhood, for that matter :)
That's so awesome! It's my most favorite part of being pregnant.
P.S. My sis Bryn is having a girl in August.
