That's right... this evening Alex and I visited the happiest place on earth, Walmart! It was an extremely efficient one stop shopping experience - we were able to buy the thing we came for, say "Hi" to a friend, and enjoy a constant supply of people watching entertainment that Walmart is known to provide. No matter what state you're in - the weirdos flock to Walmart. This evening was no exception.
Throughout the store we saw many couples still dressed in Halloween garb, others were taking advantage of the 50% off candy shelves (I intended on doing so, but my waist said no), and then there was the one guy that really gave us a chuckle.
After making our way to the front of the store, we surveyed the lines and nestled in behind another couple in the self checkout. This line was the shortest, unfortunately that didn't mean it was the quickest. We stood, and waited... and stood, and waited... the line did not move. After 5 minutes I finally got curious and looked ahead to see what the holdup was. The guy at the front of the checkout was paying for his groceries and was in the process of inserting coins one by one. No biggie, we all pay with change once in awhile. I looked even closer and realized he was paying in pennies. No quarters, dimes or nickels.. just PENNIES! The people in front of us were getting impatient and at one point the husband leaned over to his wife and said,"He has $15.00 to go..." I just about died. Apparently he's never heard of Coinstar, which would have made his, and our, shopping trip much faster. Needless to say, we too had grown impatient and quickly moved to another line.
The joys of Walmart. If only you could have seen the look on his face... and the look on the faces of the people waiting in line behind him. Priceless.

Blargh, I hate WalMart! (And don't you know? The Happiest Place on Earth™ is Disneyland!) Every time I have to visit one I can't find what I'm looking for without a lot of searching about. The food quality is awful. I bought Almond Roca once, and it had a funky flavor to it.
Just..nasty! (Narsty?) We have one down here, but I opt to walk fifteen minutes to a grocery store (Publix) that reminds me of Safeway. I'm able to find everything I need within a short amount of time and am back home within the hour. Love it.
Also, I read your previous entry. Jell-O is pretty amazing stuff! I didn't know until earlier this year that you want to chill it for at least an hour before adding things like fruit to it, else they all sink to the bottom. Any interest in making Jell-O Popcorn Balls?
