You are cute, but EEEK!

Alex noticed this in the bath tub while he was brushing his teeth a few minutes ago:

Three questions...
How did he get in? How long has he been chillin' in the bath tub? And did he bring any friends?

The idea of little mice cruising around the house while we're sleeping (or awake) gives me the heebie-jeebies. I have to stop thinking about it.

We were in need of some entertainment this evening and decided to play a board game. Alex Hildebrand sent Alex Carcassonne back in September for his birthday. We still hadn't played it, so tonight was the night. In some ways it reminds me of Settlers of Catan, but this game is a little easier and takes much less time to finish (Scott & Liz, you need to play this one if you haven't already, I think you'd like it). We played two games - I won the first, he won the second and thankfully so. We both have the tendency to get quite competitive when we play games. On a bad day, it can be just the thing to start a fight. I recall playing a game of monopoly at the cabin in August and someone (we won't name names) was a little upset when his wife beat him at his own game (prior to that we was considered to be the Monopoly Master). To be fair, I did make it nearly impossible for him to win when I refused to sell him any properties...
He was a little discouraged this evening when I won initially, but quickly regained his confidence when he trashed me during the second game. I told him he should be thankful that his wife is any competition at all - I don't know that this made him feel any better, but it was worth a try.

So were you able to catch the mouse and put him outside? He came in any way he wanted probably. ;-) Kind of odd to find him in the tub... you must have something in there that smells edible... or he was really thirsty. Still using the almond joy soap or one of the chocolate ones that has a peanut overtone to the fragrance?

With a cat in and out of the house, I'd think your mouse problems inside would be minimal... as long as the cat can roam through wherever a mouse might be going. Since the kitty associates your room with sleeping, I wonder if he'd even be thinking of hunting when he walks in the door! They'll usually gravitate toward foodstuffs... or some soft places in which to nest (like Diane's stuffed goodies on her floor).

They are awfully cute ... I hate that I've had to trap and kill so many under our sink... but they cause such a mess and contamination when left unchecked. :-/ Only the neighbor's cat to visit outdoors once in awhile... we're missing our old band of hunting kitties.

BTW... someone we once knew is turning 26 years old today... wonder how and what he's doing. :-)

scott and i cannot play monopoly together, we figured that out early in our relationship. i've pretty much figured out that scott is going to probably win no matter what game we play, and by me realizing that going into it we seem to have more fun, but in the off and surprising chance that i do win, we always have to play again so that he can reclaim victory. :) shhh... don't tell him i told you that. :)

A) Your mouse is a bitty guy compared to the mouse that got into my apartment before we moved... Third floor apartment, and I almost picked it up to take it away from Papaya.
B) We LOVE Carcassone and even own a couple expansion packs for it... We'll have to play next time we see you. Puerto Rico is another favorite... if you need more suggestions, just call us!
