He's Here!

Robert Alexander Booth
born 4:51 am
8 lbs 5 oz
20 inches long

You can't tell in these photos but the little guy definitely is hairy; he's definitely our son. We think he has Alex's mouth, chin and hairline. The rest of his features are still mysterious to us. He does somehow have some Miller in him though.

Anyway, we couldn't be happier. He's doing well. We'll post more pictures later.

He's definitely your son, and that is all that matters. I'll be sure to tell Mom my dreams hold more sway than friends many miles away! ;)

I hope to head down there soon to see you all!

Yay! He was worth the wait, huh? Having a child is the most special thing you will ever experience. They grow up way too fast. We are so happy for you!! Congratulations!!

Oh, my gosh! :-) I was so busy today I wasn't picking up any vibes. I think at noon we were at the Edinburgh Castle... or finishing up at Holyrood |Palace... long and busy day. I'm SO happy for you! you look great in the photo... and he has more Miller side in there than I'd have expected. He looks cute... you'll keep him, yes? :-)

I'll try to intiate the phone card and see if I can reach you on your cell phone. Going up to room soon after a long day and eating at a pub. :-)

If I see any baby sized kilts... I'll keep one in mind. None so far. :-)

Love, Mom

Hey... I'm back briefly. I looked at my millersoap gmail account and saw nothing. Photos must have gone to the wrong address or one of the others. :-( I'll have to wait to see more.

Another long day that started really early. I woke up nearly every hour last night. I hope tonight I'll finally get some better sleep. Been thinking about you and hope you're doing okay... more rest. Baby eating yet?

I'll try to talk to you soon... not sure if I will tonight or after we move to another location. We leave Edinburgh tomorrow morning and will be in England tomorrow night. You'd have loved the party that was going on while we ate at the hotel bar. A "hen and stag" party with lively young people dressed up like pink ladies and the groom to be as an Elvis impersonator. I recorded some of the noise. ;-) Wish I had the camera.

Saw Sterling Castle today and some other stuff... took a boat ride on Lake Katrine in the Trossachs National Park (on the Sir Walter Scott). Looked a lot like Washington... with the water and some of the plants. We don't have heather, though... that was neat.

Sorry to be so long...this could double as communication if my time runs out on here. Nearly half gone!

Love, Mom ... looking forward to visiting soon and seeing you and the little one (and Alex too!).

I wanted to call you tonight and the stupid public phone at the hotel is out of order! I even recharged the phone card. I hope you're doing okay and getting more rest. I probably can't call tomorrow... but maybe I can. We'll be getting in late at the hotel after a big day.

Had a interesting day in York today. Will talk more about that later. Think I'm about to get kicked off here!

Love to all the family who might see this... more later.

I haven't been booted yet and I'm supposed to have a few more minutes left.

We were taken to York today and shown various spots of interest before they were going to turn us loose to explore on our own. We had to be back at the bus drop at a certain time and each had a map. Well... I was out in a spot to take a photo of the Minster and got into a small chat with an older woman who walked by. Very friendly... had ties through family to the states. She asked to give me a hug before she left. :-) I took photos of many of the people I chatted with so I'd remember them later. Anyway... looked around after she chatted away about various members of her family and could see NO one from the group. I walked down the road I thought they'd taken and still no people. I'd intended to tag along with my roommate. For a few minutes I felt like my four-year-old self... lost with no parents in sight! ;-)

Finally decided I'd be seeing York by myself, so found my way down to the Clifford Tower... chatted with people along the way... took photos of a nice young couple on the tower steps (their request)... met a couple of folks from the states... some from Scotland and Wales. It was delightful. Finally saw a few familiar people after a couple of hours... did a bit of shopping. Just barely made it back to the bus on time! Hoofed it down from the Minster to the Park and Ride at the bottom of the hill in a mere 9 minutes. ;-) Whew! It's like being at summer camp... regimented and on a time schedule.

I'd better sign off. Hope to talk to you soon... and get ahold of Dad also. I've not talked to him since I left. I still have no emails from you at millersoap@gmail.com. Not sure why. :-( Might have to wait until I get home... unless you post more photos on the blog.

Love, Mom
